Red Hot Summer...

...is the theme for our new challenge at Sweet Stampin', and I must say that for the last few days we have had sunshine and heat..really hope it lasts! I used a wonderful summery image from Delicious Doodles to make my card, she's coloured with copics, with touches of glossy accents on her beads. The sun in the background is made from die cut circles and handcut strips of card and dp. The 'hello' is a Paper Smooches die cut and the 'sunshine' is stamped- haven't a clue where the stamp came from, or who made it! I'm off now to enjoy the sunshine...my book and chair are calling to me!
Thanks for visiting, have a fabulous weekend.

It's snow fun....

Hello, back again already with my DT card for Fab N Funky! It's the last Wednesday of the month (I know...I couldn't believe it either!!!) so it's time for a Christmas challenge, hosted by our lovely Ginny...anything Christmas goes!
I decided to make a stepper card using some gorgeous images from Make It Crafty that I bought some time ago and hadn't used.  The cheeky elves in the foreground have been coloured with copics, glitter added to the 'snowelf', then fussy cut and mounted on the front two steps. The Christmas houses scene, again coloured with copics and copious amounts of 'Frosted lace' stickles was matted onto green and red card to create a background. The die cut sentiment is Paper Smooches.
Sorry about the rubbish photos -stepper cards are beyond my photographic abilities, but hopefully you get the idea!

Pearls in her hair

Good morning, Wednesday again and time for a new challenge at Creative Moments. The optional theme this fortnight is embossing and we're sponsored by the fabulous A Day for Daisies who gave us some beautiful images to play with! I really was spoilt for choice but eventually chose to use this lovely girl - 'Pearls in my hair'. I coloured her with copics and added some tiny flat backed pearls, the background is lightly coloured with distress ink and a generous scattering of Frantage. The blue cardstock is embossed, sorry don't know the name or make of the embossing folder. The flowers are Honey Doo stamps, stamped and embossed onto vellum and coloured with a pigment ink pad, then fussy cut and layered together. The die cut leaf spray is Memory Box.
There are some lovely creations by my teamies, to be enjoyed on the Challenge Blog so I hope you'll find the time to visit! We'd love to have you play along with us this fortnight!

Just a card...

Good evening, here's a card I made using a beautiful digital image from Sweet Pea Stamps. The minute I saw this I knew I would have to give in and buy it as it could have been modelled on my gorgeous eldest granddaughter! When Olivia saw the finished card on my desk she said 'Nanny that looks just like me!' I coloured her (the image, not Olivia!)with copics and added a tiny bit of Frantage. I kept the design quite simple, adding the die cut bows (still love this die), leaves and a few flowers. I'm pleased with how it turned out!
Thanks for taking the time to visit!

Waiting for the storm to pass

Happy weekend! I'm writing this post on Friday evening...in the middle of a thunderstorm!!! My poor Mathilda is 'waiting for the storm to pass' snuggled up to her Daddy on the sofa...that dog is such a wuss! She never used to be bothered at all by storms or thunder but she's definitely bothered now! Maybe she needs to learn to dance...oh, she's not at all keen on rain either!
My card is for this weeks challenge at Sweet Stampin' where the theme 'Black, White and a splash of one other colour'. My card is very simple and needs little explanation. The image is of course an Uptown Girls stamp, left uncoloured. Her wellies, brolly and the centre of the flower are paper pieced. The sentiment came with the stamp.
There are some gorgeous cards over on the challenge blog awaiting your delectation, just click here to visit and to add your own fabulous creation, please follow our theme and don't forget to stamp!
Have a great weekend!

East Wind Freebie!

Good evening, a really quick post to share the card I made with this months fabulous freebie from The East Wind. I was on holiday when this 'arrived' but was very taken with this striking and unusual digi...it would have been so rude not to use it!! The card would have been really quick and easy to make had my computer not decided to play up!
Thanks for looking

Purity

Hi, it's me again already with my card for the  new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky., chosen and hosted by the lovely and talented Wends, her blog is well worth a visit you won't be disappointed! This week's theme is 'Fables and Fantasy'- so literally a fabulous challenge!
Our generous sponsor this week, The Paper Shelter provided us with some beautiful images, and I chose to use this lovely lady, Purity. As you will know, if you've ever bought or been lucky enough to win any of TPS gorgeous digis you get a whole lot digis for your money...coloured, uncoloured, jpeg, png, and gorgeous background papers too! I chose to use the uncoloured image and  got out my trusty copics! The background is plain cream card, coloured a soft green with distress inks, then stamped with various background and foliage stamps in shades of green and brown, generously splattered with frontage. Immediately behind the image is a frame die cut from scraps of dp. The birdcage is a Marianne Die, the butterflies are Tim Holtz Sizzix, the base cut from vellum coloured with pigment ink. I so enjoyed making this card!
We'd love to have you join us at Fab 'n' Funky this week, so why not hop over now and see what team Funky have made to inspire you, then join the fun you could be the lucky winner of this week's fabulous prize!

Have a lovely day!

Make it masculine!

Hello! Seems like ages since I've shared a card! Just back from a lovely relaxing holiday in Devon...feeling refreshed and rested after doing nothing but enjoy myself :) We were lucky with the weather too, mostly dry warm and sunny! I'd like to say I have a lovely tan, but it'd be a lie...however I do have a red and peeling nose (so very attractive!) to show for the day we sat looking over the bay enjoying a glass of wine (or two), chatting to friends and not realising quite how strong the sun was!
Well, back to business... my card is for this fortnight's challenge at Creative Moments - the optional theme is to make something for a special man in your life/ Father's Day. Well I have 5 brothers and numerous nephews/great nephews as well as a husband, son, son-in -law so I'm spoilt for choice really! I made this card with one of my brothers in mind, but it would be equally suitable for one of my great nephews! The image is from Stitchy Bear one of our lovely sponsors for this challenge and is available here.
I printed him twice, once onto white card and once onto the green/blue dp. I coloured his arms legs and spines with copics, cut the body from the dp and ran it through a spotty embossing folder before sticking it onto the main image with pinflair gel to add dimension and texture, he has a lovely rounded tum (a bit like mine after my lazy holiday!) The sentiment is a Visible Image stamp which I die cut with a stitched circle die and made into a little tag. I added one wobbly eye!
This fortnight'/s sponsors are:-                   Stitchy Bear Stamps
