Crafty Catz Challenge #525 - optional theme- Winter

Good morning,  I'm here with my DT card for this week's challenge at Crafty Catz,

Billie is hosting this week, she's chosen the theme of 'Winter' and our sponsor is

All Dressed Up Stamps

The team were given some sweet sponsor images to create with- I couldn't decide which one to use so I used both (greedy-eh!)
I coloured up Sledging Pup and Sledging all the Way, fussy cut the images and placed  them onto my embossed zig zag card.  I added a few die cut snowflakes,a tree and a die cut sentiment to finish.
There's plenty more to see over at Crafty Catz, where my teamies have been busy creating with these sweet images. We'd love to have you join in this week- remember the theme is optional- Anything Goes at Crafty Catz.

Thanks for visiting, keep safe and have good weekend

Halloween at Sweet Stampin' Challenges

Good morning, this week's theme at Sweet Stampin' is Halloween, I don't have a lot of use for halloween cards but they are fun to make and there are some wonderful stamps and images to choose from- ranging from extremely scary to cute and fun. I took the opportunity to ink up a sweet little witch stamp (Bells 'n Whistles) that I've had for years and never used. coloured up with Copics, then masked off so I could sponge the background with Distress ink and stamp the swirly sentiment and stars (Lavinia). Stars are coloured over with a  clear sparkle pen,  the papers are Doodlebug.

There are more spooky makes from the rest of my team over at Sweet Stampin'- and we'd love to see what you create for this fun theme so why not join us this week.

Thanks for stopping by, keep yourselves safe!

Crafty Catz Challenge #524- optional twist 'Hats'

Good morning, another week is drawing to a close- it's been a bit of a mixed week for me- on one hand my daughter and one of my granddaughters have both celebrated birthdays- Ruby's 11th and my daughter's ??? not going to say in case she ever reads this post! We are still allowed to see family (rule of 6!) at present so we were able to see both of them on their birthdays which was lovely. Sadly, on the other hand, we've been told that our beautiful Mathilda has a heart condition. She's 8 years old now which is getting on a bit for a Great Dane as they do not have a long life expectancy, but she's always been so fit and healthy that it's a bit of a shock to say the least. The vet has put her on medication and is monitoring her, she seems really well, a bit quieter than usual but otherwise perfectly happy- eating her head off and asking for walks so we're hoping it's not as serious as it sounds. She's definitely lapping up the extra attention and coddling and any little bits of chicken that might be coming her way.

Today's card is for this week's challenge at Crafty Catz, our host for this is Aunty Sue and she picked the optional twist of 'hats'.

We have a brand new sponsor this week

and we were given some gorgeous images to play with, I just love this little pony in his Christmas hat! He was so easy to colour too as the shading is done for you!

I created the card base by cutting a semi circle, scoring and folding to make it stand up. It does fold flat for posting, which is a bonus! The rest of it is pretty simple- DP, die cut trees and snowflake border and a few gems. 'Merry Christmas' sentiment die cut in red and white then layered together is on the front of the folded card.

My lovely teamies have made some stunning cards using fabulous sponsor images,
just click here to take a look, hope you can find the time to play along too.

I chose to use shades of brown gold and orange for my card- autumnal shades I guess! The cute image is called Reggie- Christmas Bells from the Colour of Love.

I've used copics to colour, papers from stash, gold ribbon and some little wooden snowflakes, coloured with a brown inkpad and gold gems in the centres.

Keep it Simple at Fab'n' Funky Challenges

Good morning, hope you're all keeping well and having a good week. It's time for this week's challenge at Fab'n'Funky- it's my turn to pick a theme  and I chose 'keep it simple'- it doesn't have to be a CAS card, anything with a simple design that was quick to make will be perfect.

I did make a card- it was quick and easy and it's just one layer, stamped directly onto the card blank- usually these are NOT quick or easy for me- something always goes wrong- but this time it worked. I inked up my large splat stamp with Distress Oxides, spritzed with water then laid the card blank on top and pressed down, a bit like using a Gelli plate. This meant that the inks didn't run off the stamp and drip everywhere (which is what has happened previously- maybe I'm a bit too generous with the spritzing :). I dried it with my heat gun then stamped the image and sentiment (Visible Image) on top using Versafine Clair ink. Finished. It took about 5 minutes start to finish.

I was inspired by beautiful photos of my 2 eldest granddaughters taken on a beach, at sunrise, during the early part of the Lockdown.

Something old at Sweet Stampin'...

.... no, I don't mean me! Our challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is to use something from your old stash. I was rooting around my old wood mounted stamps when I came across this little snowman, absolutely no idea how old it is but I do know it was one of the first stamps I bought- I used him a lot in the past but he hasn't seen the light of day for ages. I made 3 really quick CAS cards, I think I spent longer looking through the stamps.

Hope you can find the time to play along with us this week- be kind to your older stamps (or dies etc) and give them an outing! Just remember to include some stamping on your project :)

Thanks for visiting, hope you have a good weekend

Go wild and Crazy with the Crafty Catz- Challenge #522

Good morning, hope you're all well and coping with whatever restrictions the pandemic is having on your lives right now- it does seem to be going on...and on, suppose we just have to get on with our lives as best we can, but I think it's going to be a loooong winter. I shouldn't be complaining because the area I live is relatively 'safe' and, so far, I'm allowed to be seeing my family as long as there are no more than 6 of us -so  at least I can see my granddaughters!
Anyway, enough of me waffling on, I'm here to remind you that it's time for this week's challenge at Crafty Catz.
Lovely Nick is this week's host, she's chosen the theme of 'Wild and Crazy'-optional as always.
Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Paper Shelter, who generously provided the DT with a fun digital image to use, Cute Cave Girl.
The image is coloured with copics, lightly inke around the edges with Distress ink, some stamped grass and leaves.
I inked my embossing folder (a  magazine freebie) with peeled Paint Distress Ink and embossed a rectangle of lighter green cardstock, then cut the aperture to make a frame for my image.
I added a stamped sentiment and die cut the letters for 'Go Wild'
For more ideas using this cute image just go and see what my clever teamies have come up with this week.
Thanks for visiting today.

Be your own kind of beautiful

Good morning, it's Humour Wednesday at Catch the Bug and as
6th October is Plus Size Appreciation Day- I think that many of us are bit  more 'plus size' after the enforced inactivity of the last few months-  I thought I'd make a card to remind us all that it's not necessary to be thin to feel good about yourself :)
I made a rocker card featuring the lovely, curvy Dottie Birthday, die cut flowers and swirl and a stamped sentiment embossed with a glittery black embossing powder.
Thanks for stopping by,
Have a good day

Guest Design For C.R.A.F.T. Challenge

Good morning, after a recent challenge win I was delighted to be invited to Guest Design for the C.R.A.F.T Challenge this month- thank you ladies.
This week the challenge theme is Shaped card/Anything Goes
sponsored by

and

I made a card featuring Dimble the Ale Destroyer from Dr Digi.

Isn't he wonderful?!! I won this image a few weeks ago and have been itching to colour him up.
I made the card base by reversing the image and cropping it to just the mug, printing it onto brown cardstock and again onto white cardstock for the froth and metal bands- just added a handle, the die cut sentiment and of course the fussy cut Dimble himself.
Thanks for visiting today- hope to see your entries over at the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge.
