Punk or Goth at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning,  the theme for this fortnight's challenge at Fab'n' Funky, chosen by our lovely Buffy is quite an unusual one and I'm looking forward to seeing how it's interpreted- the theme is 'Punk or Goth'. I think I leaned more towards the gothic than goth because it was a great oppotunity to use one of the Delicios Doodles images I haven't had the chance to play with for ages! Years ago I was on the DT for DD and always loved colouring these beautifully detailed digis. I tried to colour this one to look a bit dark and 'gothlike'. My card design is very simple- just the coloured image matted onto DP that has a lovely shimmer, the colours matched so well with those I had chosen to colour with. I haven't added a sentiment as this will be used as a notecard.

Please do hop over to Fab'n' Funky to see how the rest of the DT interpreted the theme and I really hope you'll join in and show us your take on it!

I 'll be missing for a few days as it's our 50th Anniversary, we're celebrating with a long weekend break, so see you next week!

Thanks for visiting

Chris

Bunny ears...

Good morning, this week has flown by so quickly so it's time once again for a new challenge at Crafty Catz. Billie is hosting this week and the twist she's chosen for the DT to use is 'add ribbon or twine'. Our lovely sponsor for this week's challenge is
                                                 STAMPERS DELIGHTS

The card I'm sharing was Emily's Easter card, the image, kindly donated by our sponsor is Chibi Bunny and Carrot. I chose it because Emily recently dressed up as rabbit with white ears for World Book Day
Image coloured with Copics, papers from Polkadoodles, some die cut eggs and chocolate bunny, stamped sentiments.
It wasn't until I'd finished the card I realised that there was no ribbon or twine- another bloomin' senior moment! I added a ribon bow to the little girl's headband.

Emily was  delighted with her costume- much more fun than school uniform!

Marvin had his stitches removed on Tuesday- he's now able to have his normal exercise - much to his delight! He's been a lot better behaved thank goodness. Yesterday we took him for a run on the beach to celebrate his new found freedom, it was wonderful to watch him run in and out of the sea- such a happy boy!

Thanks for visiting, don't forget to check out the challenge blog to see what my lovely teamies have created this week - remember you don't have to follow the twist to play along- we love to see whatever you make.

Bunny girls

Good evening, I hope you are all enjoying a happy Easter weekend. I have had a lovely quiet day, spent most of it reading after overdoing the weeding the last couple of days!  A quick post from me to share my knitted bunnies- finished in the nick of time for my youngest two granddaughters tomorrow. We're having an egg hunt, their parents are not keen on them having too much chocolate - Emily has allergies so not the best thing for her so I thought I'd hide these 2 little bunny girls along with some tiny eggs. I would have liked to dress one as a boy but I know they would both want the girl one! I think we'll have to shut Marvin indoors while the hunt is in progress- he is really lusting after these bunnies- has run off with them several times in various stages of completion...and I don't think the girls will like to share!

Only tomorrow left to go then Marvin will be having his stitches removed- so looking forward to him being able to have a good long walk and get rid of some of that pent up energy, he's been so full of mischief for the last week, apart from bunny snatching he's chomped up his cone, learned to dig big holes- a fun new hobby -and decapitated any flowering plants within reach- and horror of horrors- chewed up one of my Copics which he leapt up and grabbed from my desk before I could stop him. Just as well we love him!

Thanks for visiting

Come rain or shine...

Good morning and Happy Easter, I hope you're having the 'shine and not the rain! Our optional theme at Crafty Catz this week is 'April Showers' picked by our lovely Sue (Olliesmam), we're sponsored by

Jan’s Digital Stamps

Prize $6 gift certificate
https://www.janmahew.com/

The team were given some fabulous images to play with from the April Showers set,  I used the cloud, the friends with umbrellas and the sentiment, merging them together, coloured with Copic markers and a white gel pen. Glossy accents added to the tiny raindrops and splashes in the puddle. I added a die cut sun and raindrops- then there had to be a rainbow, I don't have a rainbow die so I drew one, cut it out and inserted it behind the cloud.
As always, our theme is optional, anything goes if you want to play along.
Have a wonderful Easter Weekend

Springtime at Sweet Stampin'

Good  morning, our new challenge at Sweet Stampin' has a beautiful springtime moodboard to inspire you, lots of gorgeous images and wonderful bright, fresh colours- the theme this fortnight is Spring/ Easter.

The daisy and bee inthe bottom left hand corner caught my eye and here's the card it inspired- another triple step card.

First I created the card base, then die cut the panels to fit from white cardstock, sponged with Distress Inks in soft shades of green and used a Lavinia stencil with a darker shade of green. I matted these panels onto blue cardstock. The daisies are from Polkadoodles, stamped and cut with their matching dies. I stamped the little bees and the sentiment onto the panels then attached the daisies. Hop on over to Sweet Stampin' chsaleebgr tgo see hoe thi beautifu mood board inspired their creativity.

Thanks for visiting, have a fabulous weekend.

Craft therapy!

Some crafting therapy is needed this week-  our poor little Marvin had 'that' op! I felt so mean seeing his scared little face inside the 'cone of shame' and spent the night sleeping (well not-sleeping!) on the sofa next to him. By the next day he'd bounced right back, doesn't seem to be any discomfort at all from the surgery- eating and drinking as normal (greedily)- and his tail was wagging again! He doesn't like the cone but isn't frightened of it now- he's learned to manouvre doorways etc- and I've learned to stand out of his way when he comes charging through- keep him quiet for 2 weeks! Some hopes!! Today only day 3- he is full of energy, bouncing around the house like Tigger on speed- It's going to be a long fortnight!!.

This is Marv, before his op, trying out the recovery suit - he looked so cute- like a little convict-
but vet said not recommended ...

sooo... oh no!

don't be fooled by that innocent little face- he's already learned to use it as an offensive weapon!

Anyway, I made the card above to add to my rather pathetic Christmas pile. Not sure what the fold is called....triple step card? The gnome stamp is from Polkadoodles, white embossed card mounted onto blue glitter card, some die cut snowflakes and die cut sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by

April Challenge at Crafty Calendar

Good morning, it's time for our April Challenge over at Crafty Calendar, this month we're sponsored by Oddball Art, so a great chance to win some cute, quirky or creepy digis. The theme for this challenge is ANYTHING BUT SQUARE.

I used Image 312 Hippie Peace Van, had fun colouring it with my Copics then sat looking at it with no idea what to do next! I thought back to the days of my youth and the hippies and flower power movement of the 60s and 70s - and remembered the time I asked my Mum if I could go to a psychadelic freakout with my first  boyfriend (we were both 14 at the time, I had no idea what a freakout was, let alone a psychadelic one- but it sounded really cool!) my Mum had her own little psychadelic freakout - and so did his! I never, ever got to go one.... anyway I tried to create a sort of psychadelic, flowery background by drawing and cutting out shapes, colouring them and adding die cut edges and and punched flowers I fussy cut the Peace Van and popped it up with foam pads. This was fun to make and I'm giving it to my eldest granddaughter as I know she'll love it...

Thanks for visiting, don't forget to check out the Challenge Blog to see what my lovely teamies have been up to- hopefully you'll be inspired to pay along!

Have a great weekend

Birthday Boy

Well, here we are in April already! Shame about the cold snap after the fantastic spring weather we enjoyed last week, let's hope it's soon over so we can enjoy the warmth and sunshine again. We even had snow yesterday, just flurries here in the SE but definitely snow.

My card today is for our new challenge over at Crafty Catz, this week it's Janet's turn to host, the optional theme is LOTS OF LAYERS and our  lovely sponsor is DIGI DOODLE STUDIOS

The cute image I used, courtesy of our fab sponsor is Mikey- birthday boy, coloured with Copics and fussy cut. The papers are Doodlebug, background layer is embossed with my much-used birhday words ef, stamped sentiment and die cut candles.

I used this sketch from Creative Sketchy Girls Challenge

There's plenty more inspiration over on the challenge blog where my teamies have been busy creating some wonderful cards using this sweet sponsor images.

Thanks for visiting
