Good morning and happy weekend! A new challenge starts today over at
the theme for this fortnight is
TRANSPORT.
I was thinking of my eldest granddaughter when I made this card, she's learning to drive and was a very lucky girl to be given a little car when her other Grandad upgraded to a newer one. She will be taking her Driving Test in December - I have very mixed feelings about this. Part of me, of course, hopes she will pass (lessons are so expensive and she wants the freedom to go wherever she wants without Mum/Dad taxi) the other part is absolutely terrified at the thought of her being out there with all the inconsiderate and downright dangerous drivers around here- the roads are so busy and everyone seems in such a rush all the time. I can't stop her growing up though and comfort myself with the thought that she's very calm and level headed for a 17 year old!
The stamp is a digi from Vera Lane Studios, coloured with Copic markers (the car had to be blue!) and fussy cut, popped up with foam onto a little scene created with stencils, inks and stamps, a lovely quiet country road for my girl to drive safely on- not another car in sight!
There's plenty more inspiration over at Sweet Stampin' so do hop over to take a look-
we'd love for you to join us for this challenge.
Thanks for visiting,
Chris

A gorgeous scene Chris, really clever colouring, I love it.
I understand completely about our grandkids being out on the roads, my heart is always in my mouth when I see them going off and always thankful when they arrive home. Such is life I suppose. I wish your granddaughter well and hope she stays safe. xx
Love the cute image and great background scene. My 17yrs Granddaughter has started taking lessons too and I agree the roads can be manic here too!!!

Really fun card. Love the great imagery and scene.
It's such fun Chris and a great take on the transport theme. Can totally identify with your concerns and if our Azaria is anything to go by some of the youngsters have concerns of their own, she is yet to dare a motorway since she passed.

Chris it's bad enough when our own children are getting out on the road without thinking of a Grandchild!! I do hope she passes though and I am sure she will love this adorable card.

I love this card! You've created the perfect scenic background to set you story themed images into action. Beautifully coloured as always too. It's always a bit nerve wracking when they become mobile with their own set of wheels isn't it. Have a great weekend - Michelle x
