Four of a kind + one

I had some time to play yesterday...and some new Lavinia stamps to play with so I made a batch of Christmas cards using one of them, Bobby, the sweetest little robin. These were quick and easy to make using a Sweet Poppy frame stencil and just 3 stamps, all I did was vary the colours - the two green ones using different shades of green and brown inks.

Number five is slightly different in that I added a stencilled wall for Bobby to perch on and coloured the holly leaves with a water colour pen. I have more new stamps...just waiting for inspiration to strike!

Thanks for visiting, have a good week.

Wow, what an awesome collection of cards! You've done a brilliant job with all the inking Chris, I love that you've mixed in other shades with the main colour... they all look fantastic. The wall you added to the fifth card was a great idea too.
Cheers,
Beccy
P.S. Congratulations! You've found one of the random numbers!

Bobby is lovely isn't he, I've played a lot with him as well. Tried different techniques to get his red breast right (bear in mid me and colouring pens aren't a good match) and in the end reverted to using the little square DI's direct to stamp and he came out so nicely.

Love your set of cards and the fifth with the brick wall is probably my favourite, in fact might give that a try, looks very realistic.

Lovely to see you at We Love Stamping, many thanks for joining in (would fit nicely at this weeks Allsorts theme as well)).

Fabulous set of cards Chris, elegant and so effective. I didn’t think I liked the new Lavinia robins when I first saw them but having seen some lovely makes with them I’ve since changed my mind …I’m currently obsessed with the little Christmas cottages! xx

Gosh they're lovely Chris! Your red, red robins are just gorgeous and the effect of the stencilled frame is such a pretty place to perch! And that last one is quite spectacular! Hugs, Kate!

OMG! Had to come and say my Dad used to do those pictures too using Quality Street foil wrappers. He did a Spanish dancer and a bullfighter that I remember. Painted glass with black paint and put black tape around the edges.

Chris, your Christmas cards are absolutely stunning! I love how you’ve used the Sweet Poppy frame stencil and the Lavinia stamps, especially Bobby the robin. The different color variations are beautiful, and the stenciled wall on the fifth card adds such a lovely touch.
