Super Duper Birthday

Hello- what's happened to the sunshine today? It's a bit disappointing after the lovely weather we had yesterday but a lot more typical of our British summers. My son and his family are camping this weekend so I hope it perks up a bit for them, not a lot of fun if everything gets soaking wet, not that it will bother the girls, they love sleeping in a tent and have been known to sleep through high winds and thunder storms!

I made this card just because. The image is one of Mo Manning' s older ones and always makes me smile, reminding me of Ruby when she was small- wild hair, a big smile and oh how she loved to dress up! Coloured with Copics, I kept the design very simple because of the big die cut, it would have looked better if I'd stuck the 'birthday' on straight, by the time I noticed it was stuck too firmly to do anything about it :(

Ruby, aged 3 " Nanny, of course fairies wear wellies when it rains"

This chubby-cheeked little poppet is now almost 16- where did those years go! She still gives me the best hugs , even though she does have to bend down to do it these days!

Thanks for visiting

Chris

Of course Fairies wear wellies, who would think otherwise. Margo opts for those over any other regardless of the weather. I'm thinking that might be an issue tomorrow, her first Gymkhana where wellies won't cut it, a tad young at three to start to my mind but what do I know!

Love your Supergirl card in the lovely bright primary colours.

Oh, my, your card is almost as adorable as 3 year old Ruby! Beautifully colored and love the arrangement of stamp and dies together. I'm now thinking of my son when he was little... and he's 50 years old! I wouldn't mind if time slowed down a little. Thank you for sharing your card with us at Double D!

Double cutie post for sure Chris. Love your card and that gorgeous image. I reckon that super girl leaned slightly on your letters lol. Ruby was perfectly right about fairies and wellies!!

This is a super card and certainly looks like a younger rubber was the inspiration. I agree, even fairies don't want wet feet! Thanks for the smile.

This card is pure joy—Mo Manning’s illustrations always tug at the heartstrings, and your coloring brings so much life to it. The story behind it makes it even more special; Ruby sounds like a delightful whirlwind of personality, and that quote about fairies and wellies is priceless! The slightly tilted sentiment adds a touch of charm, like a wink from the past. Time flies, but those sweet memories stay vivid, don’t they?
