Shabby chic at Sweet Stampin'

Good morning and happy weekend. I'm here today with my DT card for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin'...the theme is 'Shabby Chic'.
I have to admit that although I love the look of this style I'm a bit outside of my comfort zone, no matter how I try my cards look a bit 'junky' whilst other people seem to effortlessly pile on the layers and embellishments splatter on some paint...everything but the kitchen sink.. and their cards look absolutely fantastic!!!
I stamped the tag using a rubber stamp I've had for years, can't remember the make but the image is so sweet, cut it out, distressed the edges and added a brad, twine and the pearl trim. I cut the butterfly and bee from the bottom layer of DP and tucked them between the layers, added lace and pearls, a few die cuts and flowers tied with unravelled string...meant to add some paint 'splats' but I forgot....
Thanks for taking the time to visit...It would be great if you found the time to play along this week...just click here for more inspiration from Team Susan!

JUNKY!???? WHAT!!????? Chris, you can never say that again. This is an incredibly beautiful creation, with all the loveliness that shabby chic intends. But I prefer your technique of employing bright colors, and showing the "girl child" in us all, to emerge and bloom, just like your masterpiece. FANTASTIC treasures and textures all over - as though the magical garden is truly within us each, and is seen once we become our true selves. I love this card in every way. I cannot imagine anyone thinking it junky - it is SO FULL OF BEAUTY OF EVERY KIND -- you have spoken to my soul. Just gorgeous!

Now for my other hat: So happy to see you at the Cardz 4 Galz Challenge. Thanks for joining in with your lovely artwork. Hope to see more of your pretty creations in our future challenge themes! Please check back to see if you have won a badge.
crafty hugs,

Hi Chris,
I agree with the above comment.
Never once have I ever seen a junky creation made by you.
They are all so very wonderful and superbly created.
We all doubt our selves, but there is no need in your case as your work is always excellent and perfectly designed.
I love this card and your super design, and that stamped image is so sweet and very lovely.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I LOVE what you did for the shabby chic challenge this week hun, you totally nailed it! I resonate with your sentiment about others making it look effortless, because I struggle with this one too, but I LOVE your gorgeous image and all the ways you vintaged the card. I especially love the butterfly and bee tucked between the layers, I NEVER would have thought to do that and it's one of my favourite features on this card! (Apart from that delish image of course!!) You nailed it hun! Hugs, Wends xoxo

Well to be honest Shabby Chic frightens me to death, and if you are out of your comfort zone then no-one would know it. To be honest it is not my thing and I really don't get it, BUT, lovely Lady I thing you have done a really great job and it is a lovely card and a great design.
I gather that you have been away and I hope you had a great time, I have also been away and therefore I have not been able to comment on your posts since you came back.
