Crafty Catz Challenge #449

Good morning, it's Friday again ...already!!! ...and time for a new challenge at Crafty Catz. It is our lovely Janette's turn to host, I was so happy when she picked the (optional) theme of Keep it Simple as I'm having a bit of a CAS phase just now!
This week we have a fabulous sponsor Some Odd Girl
The DT were generously each allowed to choose an image...it took me ages, there are so many and I'm not good at quick decisions, eventually I chose Reading Tia, she's so sweet and images of children reading always appeal to me! I printed her directly onto my background paper (a fairy story page I found on Google) then coloured with my trusty copics.  I tried stamping the sentiment directly onto the paper with black ink (fortunately I had the sense ...for once...to try it on a spare piece because I didn't like it! So I used a brown ink, stamped onto cream cardstock ,cut it out and stuck it on- it looked much better. I outlined it with a dark brown fineliner.
I have to say that this week I think my teamies have done an amazing job and I absolutely love each and every one of their cards...but don't take my word for it pop over to Crafty Catz and see for yourselves! It would be great if you choose to play along too, you don't have to use the theme (I hope you do though:) it's anything goes!
Thank you for visiting, I'll be back later today with another card.
Chris

Good Morning, Chris! Reading Tia is darling! That could be me for sure - and I love reading all kinds of books - about every subject - including fairy tales! Your coloring is beautiful and the shading on her expressive face is darling! I especially like that you have placed her on top of more words, like SHE is inside HER own story as she reads a story. Marvelous design idea! Utterly delightful. And just in case I have not mentioned it recently, I'm so grateful we are on a team together, and that we have slowly increased our on-line friendship. It's like pen pals back in our parents' day. I enjoy each of your works of art, and marvel at the variety of techniques and skills you employ. Mostly, I love how a little bit of YOU is revealed in each card - so tenderly and lovingly. Wishing you a great day. hugs, de

This is a very well composed and beautifully executed project! The colors are perfectly integrated throughout the design and your decision to use text printed paper was a wise one. Add to all of that goodness the wonderful image and your treatment of it. Very nicely crafted. Thanks for sharing with us at Shopping Our Stash!
