Snowman hugs

Good morning, it's the last Wednesday of the month which means it's time for a Christmas themed challenge at Fab'n' Funky. I made a very quick card featuring a really cute snowman couple from QKR Stampede. It was super- quick to make as I found a small stash of images I had coloured some time ago and never got around to using...so a simple layout and added a couple of wooden snowflakes and a stamped sentiment- job done! There's plenty to see over at the Challenge Blog, so if you're wanting to get started on your Christmas cards and looking for inspiration please hop over and take a look!

Hasn't the weather here been glorious over the last couple of days- it feels like a gift to be able to sit in the garden, enjoy the sunshine and chat face-to-face with friends. I'm making the very most of it while it lasts- not looking too good at the end of the week.

Magnus

Good evening, here are some cards I made in order to enter this month's Rudolph Days Challenge. I am trying to enter the challenge every month this year, nearly didn't make it this time and it's only March!.
It was my birthday back in January and my husband treated me to some gorgeous Lavinia stamps, I still haven't had time to play with them all yet so I decided it was time to ink up the magnificent Magnus. I liked how the card turned out so  I made another using different coloured inks for the background and changing the Berry stamp for the trees.

Apologies for this wonky photo!

It's been a fantastic day here, warm and sunny, had a lovely afternoon in the garden with a friend (it's allowed!!!) who brought Lottie, her year old Cockapoo for puppy playtime with Marvin. He had a wonderful time...I don't think poor Lottie quite knew what hit her....
After Lottie had gone home Marvin slept for two hours solid...oh the peace!

Colour inspiration at Catch the Bug.

Hi, I'm back with a second card today, this one is using the above colour inspiration photo for this week's challenge at Catch the Bug

The image I've used is an old favourite of mine- Clyde Spring, it coloured with Copic Markers and I've added glossy accents to his eyes. Papers are a random selection from stash, a stamped sentiment, some die cut daisies and tiny buttons.

For a special lady

Good morning and happy weekend...just a couple more days to go then we'll be able to socialise in our gardens again, I'm so looking forward to being able to sit and have a coffee with friends again, it seems such a long time since I've been able to see them....here's hoping for some warm dry weather!

Today's card is my DT make for this fortnight's challenge at Sweet Stampin', the theme is

For a special lady.

I made this for a very special friend using my lovely Lavinia stamps. The background papers were made using a Gel plate, a mixture of Distress Inks and Lavinia Elements Ink. I matted each layer onto black card and added the black twine, die cuts and gems to provide some contrast and texture.

Team Susan have created some fabulous makes for this challenge- don't forget to take a look now.

Thanks for visiting today, have a great weekend

Dreaming of summer....

Good morning,  this week's challenge at Crafty Catz begins today, this week our host is Christine and her chosen theme is 'Dreaming of Summer ' (oh yes!) .

Our sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter

the DT were given this gorgeous image to play with , it's called Having a Good Time...and he looks as if he is! The image comes with both coloured and black and white versions as well as backing papers. I choose to use the uncoloured version as TPS images are so lovely to colour, I used my Copic markers and DIs for the background.
The die cut flower is Ditsy Florals (Tattered Lace)

Please do hop over to Crafty Catz to see the gorgeous cards my teamies have created using this cute little guy. It would be great to have you play along this week- as always the theme is entirely optional.

It's been a whole week since I last managed to post! Someone has been keeping me very busy! I think a young puppy takes up nearly as much time as looking after a baby, it's so important to put the time in when they're young and learn so quickly, also they're not puppies for very long and you have to enjoy the puppy games while you can! He's been given a clean bill of health  from the vet and has now had his first injection. We're looking forward to the day we can take out him out and introduce him to the big wide world.

Thanks for visiting, have a lovely day

Poppy Sprite

Good morning, this week's challenge at Crafty Catz starts today, the optional theme is
 Fantasy / Make it Magical.,
our sponsor for this challenge is

COLOUR OF LOVE

The team were given some lovely images to play with and my card features the cute Poppy Sprite.
She's coloured with Copic markers, the background clouds are sponged with Distress Ink. The red panel behind her is embossed with a butterfly EF that I've had for years and have no idea of the brand. I added a die cut butterfly (MB) and some poppies (Orchid Crafts- whatever they're called now).

Update on Marvin...he's settled in so well already, he's so quick to learn we can't quite believe how young he is!
Our house feels like a home again :))

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend.

No squares at Fab'n' Funky.... and say hello to Marvin

Good morning, another easel card from me- this one's my DT card for this week's challenge at Fab'n' Funky, this week our lovely and very talented Pat K has picked the theme of No Square cards. I made this for a friend's birthday, I found the image on Google and coloured it to look Ted her beloved Cockapoo- Ted loves a tiny bit of cake (well probably he would love a large piece but doesn't get the chance!) Papers are from an LOTV pad, and the sentiment is stamped.

Now for my news- we have a new puppy!!!!

This is Marvin, he's a Red Fox Labrador and will be 9 weeks old on Thursday, he is a total sweetheart and  so far his behaviour has been impeccable ....

Thanks for visiting, have a happy day.

Enjoy the ride

Good morning,  here'#s a card  from me featuring this week's NR image at Catch the Bug

This cute image makes me smile, bringing back memories of when I was a child. There were some 'big boys' who lived across the street and owned a tandem. They would give the little kids rides on the back- We would all queue up to have a turn, I must have been about 6 or 7 at the time and my feet went nowhere near the pedals. I just clung onto the handlebars for dear life while the lad pedalled around the block- no helmets or safety precautions whatsover- no one turned a hair  those days, it's amazing that any of us survived!
We had a lot of fun though!
I followed this sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Good times...

Good morning, hope everyone is keeping well and staying safe...and sane! I for one have had a good week- picked up my granddaughters from school on Wednesday (my daughter's late night, she has a staff meeting after school and Ruby is too young to go home on her own) so grandparents childcare service needed. I have to say it was great to have them in the house again, it feels like a big step towards getting back to normal :)

Today's card is for our new challenge at Crafty Catz, this week it's Billie's turn to host and the optional theme she has chosen is 'use your 3 favourite colours'.

This week we are sponsored by LeAnnes World 101

The DT were given some super-cute images to use, I chose Biker Chic I've used Copic Markers to colour in my favourite shades of blue, green and brown.

As always there are some lovely projects from my teamies over at Crafty Catz, so do hop over for a look.

Thanks for stopping by

Anything but a Card at Catch the Bug

Good morning,  Monday is 'Anything But A Card'  day at Catch the Bug. For my project I decorated a little kraft box which I found lurking in a cupboard whilst looking for something else. I used  two of the images from a sweet set called Mini Set Miss Izzy Flowers
I cut a strip of blue spotted DP to fit around the side of the lid, used a border punch along one edge and stuck it to the lid, then glued a strip of cotton trim around the edge.
I managed to print out the circular flower with sentiment  to fit the box lid exactly (couldn't believe my luck!), coloured it with copics and stuck it onto the lid. I printed it again, same size, cut out and coloured the flower, adding dots with a white gel pen,  adhered it over the first flower with foam pads, then added the button and twine. I printed and coloured the tag, and added it to the gift box with a twine bow.

Thanks for visiting and have a good week.

Anything Goes at Catch the Bug

Hi, I'm back again with my DT card for this week's challenge at Catch the Bug, the theme is
Anything Goes

The image is Beautiful Blocks- Life in Color, coloured with Copic Markers and Distress Inks. The background paper is the result of some inky fun  with smooshed Distress inks  and splashes of water. I added small gems to the dots on the image.

Please check out the rest of the DT makes over at Catch the Bug- hope to see you play along this week.
Thanks for visiting my blog
Have a great weekend

Noora

Good morning, the first weekend of March and time for a new challenge at Crafty Calendar. This month we're sponsored by the fabulous Sheepski Designs and our theme is feminine.

I used a beautiful image, Noora, given to me by the sponsor. Colouring medium is Copic markers. The papers are from an old 6x6 pad, it's lost its cover so can't tell you the make. I found an oddment of ribbon that matched the colours well- the crumpled look goes well with torn papers!

We hope you can find the time to play along this month- pop over now for some great inspiration from the rest of the team.

Thanks for looking

Die cuts and punches at Crafty Catz

How is it possibly Friday again??? I seem to have lost some days somewhere this week! Next week will go even faster as the kids are going back to school so I'll be back to the childcare routine- picking up granddaughters from school, it's only one day a week but I'm so looking forward to having them around for a few hours again. It should be pretty safe too, both hubby and I have had our vaccines- both girls have had the virus and have tested positive for immunities (they were part of an NHS trial and had blood tests last month) so fingers crossed they won't catch it again.

Anyway- Friday it is -so my card is created for this week's challenge at CRAFTY CATZ. Our sponsor this week is Crafty Ribbions

Aunty Sue is hosting this week , the optional theme is die cuts and punches.
used a cute digi from Polkadoodles, coloured with Copic markers. The papers are from a Heartfelt pad, I've used several dies and a much loved border punch (Martha Stewart).
There are a lovely variety of projects from the Crafty Catz ladies,  no sponsor images this week so we could choose our own- do hop over and take peek.
Thanks for visiting
keep safe and have a good weekend

Happy Day

Good morning,  it's time for a new challenge at Fab'n' Funky, the theme this week is 'use kraft'- you can use as much or as little as you like as long as long as we can see it on your project. I made a simple, layered tent fold card using a cute stamp set from Colorado Crafts, coloured with pencils and white gel pen for his whiskers.

This is the inside of the card
Please hop over to Fab'n' Funky to enjoy the beautiful creations from my teamies- it would be great to have you join us this week.
