A bit shabby...

Good morning, here's my DT card for this fortnight's challenge at Sweet Stampin', the theme being Shabby Chic/Vintage /Distressed. I'm way out of my comfort zone here- it's not that i don't like the style- I just can't seem to get it right! My cards always look as if I've chucked on everything but the kitchen sink...but at least I tried! The image is a sweet Sarah Kay digi, coloured with pencils, the little tags are LOTV stamps- I've added lace, ribbon- die cuts fibres, pearls, a wooden leaf spray, faux stitching...no room for the sink! You don't want to know how many times I pulled this apart and started again ...

There are some MUCH better inspiration cards from my lovely teamies over at Sweet Stampin' so do hop over for a look-see. I hope you find some time  over the next 2 weeks to create something beautiful and play along.

Thanks for visiting

Have a happy weekend

Dog on a bike

Good morning, here's a couple of Christmas cards I made using a stamp from Katzelcraft that I couldn't resist buying- I coloured the dog to look like Marvin- he's such a clever boy, I'm sure he could ride a bike if he wanted to! The details on this stamp made me smile, the bone-shaped present and the tiny bones on the Christmas tree pot- so cute! I need loads of cards so kept the design simple- just the coloured image, a bit of distress ink smudged around it and white ink spatters for snow, stamped the sentiment- done.

Thanks for visiting, have a good day

Anything Goes at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning, this fortnight's challenge over at Fab'n'Funky will be our last before the summer break.

The theme this time is 'Anything Goes'.

I went with a Christmas card, because I'm trying to get some done and also because I'd already coloured this cute Conie Fong digi. I misplaced it for a while...so I thought I'd use it before it disappeared again. The image has been fussy cut and popped up on foamon top of the white embossed panel. I've added a die cut tree and some little parcels.

My teamies have been busy creating too - you can see their fabulous work over at Fab'n' Funky, we're hoping you can find time to join us over the coming fortnight.

Thanks for visiting

cool as a ...mermaid

Phew! Just not used to these temperatures here! I'm hiding indoors, blinds and windows closed , my craft room is the coolest in the house, nice and comfortable in here :) Too hot  for me outside- even in the shade, there is a breeze but it's a hot one!  Marvin is spreadeagled in front of the fan, nice and quiet now but not going to be impressed when he realises that he's not getting a second walk today, far too hot for crazy dogs to run around even in the shady woods.

My card today was inspired by watching my small granddaughters play in their pool with their mermaid dolls, one way to keep the kiddies cool when the temperatures rise. The dolls were really cute with lovely purple and turquoise hair, hence my colour combo! The  beautiful image is  Moth and Fern from Ching Chou Kuik, to me she looks like mermaid. I've coloured with Copics as usual. I recently bought some DP pads from the Works- fantastic value at £4 each-  12x12 papers in beautiful colours and patterns and good  quality, not at all flimsy. The one I've used here looks like water so a great background for my mermaid. I've framed her with tiny pearls and added a starfish (cut from the cover of one othe paper pads, a little seahorse and some diecut leaves that look a bit sea-weedy. A few clear 'drops' and stamped sentiment to finish.

Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy the rest of it, wherever you are, whatever you're doing and whatever the temperature.

Snowflakes and sparkle

Phew! It's been a very hot week here! I hid in the craft room and cooled myself down with thoughts of snow and ice  creating this card for our challenge over at Crafty Catz, the optional theme for this week is Christmas in July, the snowflake ballerina is courtesy of our lovely sponsor-
COLOUR OF LOVE

Prize - 3 images from store

I coloured the image with Copic markers and a white gel pen, adding plenty of glitter, which has a lovely sparkle IRL. the background is a snowflake die cut panel cut from silver glittercard layered over deep blue glitter card. The snowflakes are cut from white card and white vellum then layered together. I've added ribbon, gems and a die cut sentiment.

This will be our last challenge before the summer break, we'll be back in September,  it would be great to have you join us - you do not have to follow the theme, as always we love to see anything you have created.
Thanks for visiting- enjoy your weekend

Guest Design at Creative Creases

Good morning,  back in April I was lucky enough to be a winner over at Creative Creases and Debbie has  kindly invited me to be a Guest Designer for this fortnight's challenge. I made a Balcony Fold card using stamps from Honey Doo, some die cuts and papers from Heartfelt. This fold is easy to do (loads of tutorails online!) and folds flat for posting. I've tried to get photos from all angles. I haven't tried this fold before but will definitely using it again.

Thanks for visiting,

Enjoy your weekend

Whatever the weather at Fab'n' Funky

Good morning, there's a new challenge starting today over at Fab'n' Funky
hosted by our lovely Pat. Her chosen theme is
Whatever the Weather.

I chose to make a Christmas card as I'm sadly behind this year, I hate having a last minute panic to get them done, it takes all the fun out of it for me!  The cute snowman digi is from QKR Stampede and the background 'snow' lettering is a homemade stencil cut on my (sadly neglected) Cricut machine. I cut the word once on a small piece of card , removed the letters and inked through the negative with Distress Ink, moving the stencil down the card and trying to fade the ink slightly as it got nearer to the snowman. I added die cut snowflakes to the 'O's.

There's more inspiration from my teamies over at Fab'n'Funky and we'd love to see what you make of this challenge!

Think of a number...

I'm a little late with my card for this fortnight's challenge at Sweet Stampin' , I had every intention of posting yesterday after I got back from my granddaughters' dance show but , I cannot tell a lie,  the tennis lured me away...

The challenge theme this fortnight is 'use numbers' this is the card IO made for my friend's youngest grandson. The stamp is from Uniko, I stamped and embossed it twice , once on dark blue card and once on pale blue, I cut out all of the balloons from the pale blue one (easy because of the embossing) and paper-pieced them onto the dark blue version, which I matted onto silver crackled card. The numbers were die cut from the same silver card. I mounted the panel onto a larger panel of the same dark blue card, stamped and embossed the sentiment to finish.

Please visit the Challenge Blog and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of my team, we hope you're inspired to join us - just remember to stamp something as well as adding a number!

The dance show was great btw, it was postponed from Christmas because of you-know-what, it's just a small dance school and the shows are very relaxed and fun with all of the pupils from tiny tots in their cute tutus to mature lady tap dancers enjoying taking part. My granddaughters, aged 15 and 12 are learning Street dance, there are 7 girls in their group and they performed 7 different dances- of course they were brilliant!!

Thanks for visiting...must go -the tennis is calling!
