A bit shabby...

Good morning, here's my DT card for this fortnight's challenge at Sweet Stampin', the theme being Shabby Chic/Vintage /Distressed. I'm way out of my comfort zone here- it's not that i don't like the style- I just can't seem to get it right! My cards always look as if I've chucked on everything but the kitchen sink...but at least I tried! The image is a sweet Sarah Kay digi, coloured with pencils, the little tags are LOTV stamps- I've added lace, ribbon- die cuts fibres, pearls, a wooden leaf spray, faux stitching...no room for the sink! You don't want to know how many times I pulled this apart and started again ...

There are some MUCH better inspiration cards from my lovely teamies over at Sweet Stampin' so do hop over for a look-see. I hope you find some time  over the next 2 weeks to create something beautiful and play along.

Thanks for visiting

Have a happy weekend

Chris

Looks pretty good to me Chris and I think the use of Kraft really helps add the shabby feel to it.

It's a fabulous Shabby chic / vintage card, Chris! I love the colour combo and colouring on kraft really does make it even more vintage-y, fabulous colouring as well, I haven't coloured with pencils for ages and you're making me think maybe I should get them out again!

I just had a quick wander back through your blog, and didn't realise just how many cards I'd missed - my apologies for being such a bad blogging friend. Please bear with me and I'll get back to being here regularly soon.
