Add a button - Fab 'n' Funky # 418

Good morning, another wet and miserable day here...and it's my turn to collect the granddaughters from school..! Not feeling too great either...just a cold but not looking forward to standing in the rain waiting for Ruby's class to come out, they're always last and it's not the kids it's the teacher, so inconsiderate of him when the weather is bad, obviously time management is not one of his skills!
OK, I've stopped whingeing now...
We have a new challenge at Fab'n' Funky - this week we're sponsored by Crafty Ribbons and our lovely Wendy has picked the theme of  'add a button'.
I felt like a change from making Christmas stuff so I coloured up this sweet image from Polkadoodles to make a birthday card for my friend. We worked together in the library for many years, sharing a love of reading...amongst many other things. We're both retired now but remain close friends.
Image is coloured with Copics, Glossy Accents added to specs, papers are Santoro's Gorjuss (only have one tiny scrap of the beautiful book paper left now) stamped sentiment is Mama Elephant. I kept the design very simple just adding a metal corner, a couple of brads and the button!
As always my fabulous teamies have been busy and have produced some great inspiration for you,  and of course we'd love it if you chose to play along this week.
 Thanks for visiting!
Chris

Hope you feel better soon Chris, nothing worse than standing waiting for a classroom of children to be let out, especially if they are always last. Love this card, everything about it is perfect for your friend especially the sentiment

Hope you feel better soon, Chris. I had a cold two weeks ago - so rare for me - and it triggered all my other symptoms! So I had an exacerbation of a number of ickies hit at one time, but am doing better now, thank goodness! At least we should be good to go for rest of the winter without catching anything, right? LOL after all, fair is fair

Your beautifully colored image is amazing with so much bright dimension and sweetness. It amazes me how you get the tiniest of details, like her glasses and striped socks. The sentiment is beyond precious! It's a fantastic card. hugs, de
