Chill out, relax, enjoy...

Good morning, our August challenge begins today at Stamping Sensations. The optional theme this month is Summer in the Garden.
Our sponsors for this month are
and

I spend a lot of my summer in the garden -weather permitting. There's nothing nicer than a good long read or chatting with friends outside in the sunshine. Our garden isn't a big one but we love it, there's plenty of flowers and shrubs, a few trees, a small lawn and a large patio and decking area. My husband is the gardener- not me, I help with the pots and a bit of weeding now and again- he does all the hard work! Funny thing is he rarely sits in the garden, that's my job - and I do it well :)
To make my card I've used a very old stamp from Little Claire Designs. I bought it at the very first Craft Show I ever went to, at Ally Pally at least 12 years ago. I've coloured the image with markers and used a stencil and Distress Inks to create and colour the background. The sentiments on the white frame are hand written because I didn't have the stamps I wanted.

There's loads to see over at the Challenge Blog, so please take the time to check it out.
Remember all of our challenges are Anything Goes- we just need to see at least one stamped element on the front of your entry.
Thanks for stopping by, have a good day.
Chris

Beautiful card Chris and I love the handwritten circle, it adds a nice touch.
I am like you, I love to sit out and have a read and sometimes my lovely neighbours pop by to chat about all sorts, we could sort the whole country out apparently if we got the chance, hahaha. I hope to have more days in the sun before autumn don't you..xxx

Perfect for our theme Chris, the mowing can wait, a hammock is much better option.

This one made me smile instantly and definitely made me relax though our weather today is nothing but rain!! Your garden sounds idyllic Chris. It's great to have someone to do the heavy stuff so you can enjoy the fruits of their labour lol.

Great card Chris, love your beautiful garden image and your hand written quote around the frame so nice. It's been a lovely week for relaxing and reading in the garden, today is very grey but still quite warm. Enjoy your day.

It's a wonderful colourful scene and the way you've framed it is just fabulous. How clever to write your own sentiment too - so neat.
